Seward™ Stomachers

The Stomacher® 80 Biomaster range of Stomacher® Bags and machines is a comprehensive range of sample preparation equipment for processing and handling tissue samples.

The Stomacher® Circulator principle improves organism recovery over older square paddle designs by enhancing the stirring and extrusion forces applied to the Stomacher® Bag contents. This is achieved by the combination of curved paddles, the central island baffle and the round bottomed Stomacher® Bag.

The Bioreactor is used in the pork industry to prepare samples for analysis for Trichinella. The machine has a heater element inside the door and the samples of pork meat are digested inside the bag with enzyme and HCl acid. The resultant slurry is sieved and examined under microscopy for the presence of the Trichinella parasite.
